Abstract

El-Beheira Governorate located in the western part of the Nile Delta, while El-QalyubiaGovernorate located in the eastern part of the Nile Delta at the apex of the Nile. Both governorates are important for Egyptian agricultural production, the current study was conducted, aims to conduct pedological studies on some soils in those two governorates and display these results in the form of maps showing some of the soil properties that were analyzed, using Geographic Information Systems. To achieve this goal, field visits were made to those lands and make an exploratory survey of it, which soil profiles were excavated, surface soil samples and water samples from irrigation sources were taken. Then, the physiochemical properties of all samples were analyzed and created pedological maps, The soils of the study areas of El-Beheira and El-Qalyubiawere classified as following: (Typic Torripsaments and VerticTorrifluvents) respectively. The results of the statistical analysis of the physical properties of the two regions showed no statistically significant differences within them, but statistically significant differences were found between the regions. At the same time, the results of the chemical analyses of these regions showed statistically significant differences between them when compared to each other. It was concluded that the two study areas are characterized by good soil and water properties that qualify them for growing a wide range of crops with high productivity.
